Northern Rhone Wine Road
Between the towns of Vienne and Valence, the hills are steep and tortuous. The vines, perched on sheer slopes, provide a striking spectacle, such as the surprising Colline de l'Hermitage, the vertigo-inducing slopes of Condrieu and Cote-Rotie, and the spectacular natural arenas of Chateau Grillet.

Malleval
Small medieval village with ancient stone buildings, located in the heart of the Saint-Joseph appellation. Next to the cemetery, at the top of the village, the very steep vineyards are particularly impressive.

Tain l'Hermitage
Small town located on the left bank of the Rhone river, at the foot of the Hermitage Hill. This famous hill is named for a medieval monk who built that chapel for solitary meditation.
Hiking trails climb the hill between the vineyards. From the Chapel Saint Christophe, on top, the panoramic view is prestigious. The Cave de Tain l'Hermitage is a cooperative and consists of over 700 winegrowers who share buildings, equipment and staff. Its visit is very impressive.
