Morteau
Town at the crossroad of Besançon, Pontarlier and Switzerland, Morteau is located in a large valley on the banks of the Doubs river. With a population of about 7,000, it is the main town in this area and is known for its clock industry and its famous sausage.

Located on the bank of the Doubs river, the touristic town of Villers-le-Lac (4,200 inhabitants) is known for the "Saut du Doubs" (waterfall on the Doubs river).
Cross-country skiing: 30 km of trails for classic style, 17 km for free style and 9 km of untraced itineraries
- Le Chauffaud, Gardot, Châteleu, Les Seignes, Altitude: 1,050 to 1,300 m
Le Chauffaud is the starting point of the Grande Traversée du Jura (GTJ).
Cross-country skiing: 47 km of trails for classic style and 28 km for free style along the Franco-Swiss crest. One lighted trail for night time skiing
Downhill skiing: 1 ski lift in Le Chauffaud and 1 in Chateleu.
- Meix Musy, Altitude: 1,290 m.
Family ski resort well suited for both cross-country and downhill skiiing as well as snowshoeing.
