General Information This is the land of Comté Cheese, of "croûte aux morilles" (creamed morels on toast) and of "coq au vin jaune" (the traditional chicken and wine dish).The region's red , white and yellow wines complement a local gastronomy in which cheeses, salted meats and wild mushrooms figure prominently. Taking a drive along the Jura Wine Route with its vineyards or the "Comté Cheese Trail" with its many cheese dairies is an excellent way to discover the fine foods of Franche-Comté. |
