Cross-country and downhill skiing are the major activities in winter in most of the villages and ski resorts of Val de Mouthe, Chapelle-des-Bois, Metabief Mont d'Or, Pontarlier and Montbenoit and Val de Morteau.

Dogsled rides, training in dogsled-driving and introduction to mushing are popular in the villages of Chaux-Neuve, Les Fourgs and La Longeville. Snowshoeing trails are available in Mouthe, Chaux-Neuve and Chapelle-des-Bois. The ski jump stadium of Chaux-Neuve is used all year around. |

St-Point and Remoray Lakes |

The pleasant environment is the perfect setting for relaxation and fishing. Malbuisson, Grangettes, St-Point and Chaon provide nice beaches for swimming. |

Windsurfing, sailing, canoeing, rowing can be enjoyed in
St Point and Remoray Lakes. Water recreation areas are located in Oye-et-Pallet and Labergement-Sainte-Marie villages.

Doubs River
The Doubs River is known as one of the lovelies French rivers. A great variety and abundance of fish makes it a fisherman's paradise. Its rushing waters also attract canoeing and kayaking enthusiasts. |

Hiking and Mountain Biking (VTT)

In summer, bikers and hikers use the ski trails of the "Grande Traversée du Jura", a 400 km network of relatively easy trails that crosses the entire Jura Mountain. It covers 220 km in the Doubs department.
Metabief is world famous for its mountain biking trails. Its year-around downhill trail, 2,9 km long with a vertical difference of 400 m, hosts regularly some important championships. A chairlift takes the bikers up the mountain to access the trails.

Alpine Slide

The chairlift takes riders and their "toboggans" up the mountain for a 60 m descent. Each sled has a control stick that regulates the speed of the descent. There are 2 tracks, running side by side, one for beginners, the other one for speed lovers. |
